  • Notes
    • Robert retired in 2002, loved potting in his Garden which was his passion. The apple of his eye his Great Grandson that he and Lida looked after during the day. In 2003 Robert was constantly tired and had many naps during the day, not feeling very well Lida took him to the heart specialist who admitted him into the bell street Private hospital in Krugersdorp where he received the best treatment from the kind nurses. Lida spent day and night next to his bed, with visits from his two daughters and grand children daily. Tuesday the 4th in the afternoon with Lida and Jenny at his bedside the Doctor very happy with his progress, told him that he could go home the following morning. Before Lida left that night Robert asked her if she minded him staying one more day, he did not feel up to going home just yet. Lida told him that he could take as long as he needed. The next morning his heart stopped just before 5am.
    • Robert came from a very poor family - his sister Maryann had to go stay with other family inorder to survive. In his married years Robert had a wondering eye. Was a very good father and did the best he could. A loving grandfather and later knew his first Great Grandson.
